Position

PURPOSE OF THE JOB


Reporting directly to the Colour & Product Compliance Supervisor, the Colour & Product Compliance Specialist will collaborate with the R&D Fabrics & Trims, Product Developer, Quality Control colleagues to test quality and colors of clothes, in order for them to meet established standards.


CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Colours and quality approvals. Knowledge of the dyeing processes in textile. Knowledge on Fabrics quality control and inspections. Closely monitor colour of bulk fabric and troubleshoot problems with fabric supply chain and/or with operational teams.
  • Track compliance documentation for GUESS’s products for the assigned territory and compile documentation as needed.
  • Work with R&D Teams, Sourcing, and Supply Chain to ensure compliance and product safety requirements are worked into product designs, packaging and labelling, advertising claims, testing and approval procedures, registration with national authorities
  • Monitor evolving regulatory landscape for your assigned territory through work with industry organizations and with 3rd party labs.
  • Respond to product compliance enquiries from internal and external stakeholders such as suppliers, retailers, markets, and product creation teams regarding topics such as, but not limited to product safety, product packaging & labeling compliance, chemical compliance, and material quality testing
  • Help manager on driving the implementation of the responsible chemical management program with suppliers, internal and external stakeholders within the ZDHC Framework

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Education preferably in textiles, chemical or business-related disciplines or equivalent work experience
  • At least 4-5 years’ experience in the same role and field
  • Good knowledge in fabric & apparel product development
  • Technical understanding of fabric/trims construction and up to date on seasonal fabric/trims trends
  • Critical Thinker, rigorous and well organized
  • Self-motivated, focused on meeting deadlines and able to multitask within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong management and problem-solving skills, in addition to excellent marketing sense
  • Good judgment, proven responsibility and strong analytical skills.
  • Capability to work under strict, short deadlines
  • General knowledge of Guess product offer across different lines will be considered a plus
  • Working on cross-functional and multi-national teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Travel availability
  • Fluent English. Any other language will be considered a plus.
  • Proficient with MS-Office programs
