PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Reporting directly to the Head of Designer Man, the Designer Apparel Man will support the development of all design activities for Man Lines with a focus on Athleisure/Activewear.

The role will also support presentations of the line to merchants, buyers, product developers and sales teams in adoption and proto reviews.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the design process from concept to completion while partnering with the Head of Designer to ensure alignment priorities and direction
• Research new trends and conduct market analysis
• Take inspirational trips across Europe in order to perform research on man fashion trends
• Design and develop commercial man products, planning the line according to fashion trends and sales needs
• Sketch all style based on seasonal SKU plan and sales analysis
• Create drawings, technical sheets, graphics and seasonal look book
• Select fabrics, colors and accessories as well fit development with technical departments and vendors
• Participate to the Briefing and After Sales meetings
• Present the collection during the Sketch Review and Proto meeting
• Participate to exhibitions, fashion show, technical presentations and lookbook
• Create moodboards and colour charts
• Visit manufacturers or trade shows, market browsing
• Select fabrics, embellishments, accessories, details or styles
• Check samples and production process and fitting both in office and in supplier’s factories
• Work with the Design and the Tech Design team in order to provide comments and notes for all fittings
• Work closely with all the Designer, PD, Buyer and Brand Manager and Visual Merchandising Team.
• Exchange technical sheet and tech pack with all design detail with the PDs
• Check with PD team for correct balance among products, quality and cost wise
• Implement Product guideline for Showroom and Visual
• Support PM during the Line Openings
• Be a reference point for the Design team, participating and supporting the activities of all the team

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Fashion and/or Design Arts
• Previous experience in the same role and field (MAN FASHION) – 5/9 years
• Trend catcher, fabrics and details researcher (internet, fairs, market visits, etc...)
• Taste for prints and sense of color
• Extensive knowledge about product, fabrics, fitting dev., style and graphics
• Strong attitude and understanding of fashion product, style and graphic trends
• Highly creative with a clear understanding of the Guess Brand DNA
• Fashion eye with commercial awareness
• Innovative traits are necessary with strong attention to authentic details and with self-organized skills
• Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with adherence to deadlines and design calendar
• Team player
• Dynamic personality, fast thinker, positive attitude
• Available for frequent travelling
• Sense of urgency
• Fluent English
• Good knowledge of computer skills: excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
