PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Reporting directly to the Senior Designer Jewellery, the Designer Jewellery will be in charge of developing all design activities for Guess Jewellery Collections.

The role is responsible for assisting the product development team with conceptual development and creating illustrated and technical designs as required.

He/she will participate in a dynamic and creative environment, working closely with the product development team, sales and marketing and ensuring revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Research new trends and conduct market analysis;

· Resume trend researches and collects them in an internal library, updating it constantly;

· Create and present design mood boards and colour charts for each season;

· Develop new jewellery products/concepts that are consistent with business strategy, considering trend research and internal collection analysis;

· Execute designs that meet business goals and objectives;

· Create designs through sketching/rendering, developing technical drawings and assembling samples as needed to meet business objectives of Guess;

· Create drawings, technical sheets, graphics and seasonal lookbooks;

· Ensure that all design deadlines are met as needed based on the calendar;

· Work with the product development team, providing detailed specific information on materials to managers and factories;

· Ensure that the proper interpretation of designs is executed into actual samples;

· Maintain records and specifications for all designs, updating collection information documents as a communication tool for the product development team;

· Develop jewellery lines from sketch proposals to rendering, including technical specifications;

· Review calendar and make sure deadlines are respected, reminding involved parties;

· Exchange daily communications with the product development team about the collection development status;

· Check with the PD team for correct balance among products, quality and cost wise;

· Receive and follow up information about quality issues for existing products in order to constantly improve design standards;

· Travel domestically and internationally as needed;

· Participate in exhibitions, fashion shows, and technical presentations;

· Visit manufacturers or trade shows, market browsing;

· Communicate with factories in order to provide comments and notes for all jewellery products.

REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Fashion and/or Design Arts

· Previous experience (at least 4 or 5 years) in the same role and field (Jewellery Design)

· Highly creative with a clear understanding of the Guess Brand DNA

· Strong knowledge of fashion Jewels and upcoming related trends

· Fashion eye with commercial awareness

· Ability to draw both technical drawings and free-form renderings/sketches

· Innovative traits are necessary with solid attention to authentic details and with self-organized skills

· Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with adherence to deadlines and design calendar

· Team player, dynamic personality, fast thinker, positive attitude, and sense of urgency

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group at all levels

· Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up

· Experience working with cross-functional teams

· Available for frequent traveling

· Fluent English

. Good knowledge of computer skills: Rhino, Keyshot, Office, Outlook, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are mandatory.
