Position

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Factory Merchandiser owns all Factory Merchandising activities of Region 1 & 2 for Kids, Underwear, Accessories & Footwear Product Lines and acts as the interface between the 2 Regions granting a smooth & efficient information flow from concept to final sample approval making sure that no wrong branding or contents or product overlaps happens between Factory assortment and full price.

She has to contribute to building global product assortment ensuring quality and consistency are kept in the respect of product integrity and strategical drivers.


CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend seasonal strategic meetings with buyer, planner and product developers to understand channel & regional requests in terms of product categories expectation
  • Partner in style / SKU plan made by global buying teams and monitor the effective execution of it
  • Interact with design at the concept stage to ensure prints, silhouettes, fabrics are appropriate to brand positioning and markets expectations
  • Be an expert of calendar deadlines by product line
  • Be part of best / worst performance reviews to improve future product choices
  • Run market browsing, competitors analysis & product benchmarking by category and by country to get objective base for following action plans
  • Monitor fabric quality selection on a global scale together with trims and other branding details by getting official approvals from Creative Director
  • Create leveraging at global level in product offer where possible with a sharp focus on those categories like Denim, Activewear & Tees
  • Meet regularly with Visual Merchandising & Buying teams to follow up on Product focus at store level
  • Attend Eu & Global proto reviews with product developers and buyers to assess all product elements are there
  • Build strong relationships on a cross-functional basis within the organization, ensuring that the commercial and retail operations teams work in true partnership to achieve a winning proposition

Requirements

WORK EXPERIENCE

2/3+ years prior experience in retail merchandising preferred with the ability to display a strong understanding of product assortment.

Good open attitude.

  • Knowledge of strategic merchandising in product
  • Possess good presentation, listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze a problem skillfully, formulate a logical rationale for the decision and take action
  • Ability to have vision in identifying potential areas of improvement
