PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Assisting the senior colleagues and working closely with all the Design Apparel Team, the Graphic Designer Intern will support the developing of all graphic design activities of the Apparel Division (with a main focus on the Guess Jeans Line).

In particular, the Graphic Designer Intern will be responsible for designing graphics, labels and trims for apparel as well as on-product marketing where applicable.

Reporting directly to the Head of Designer, he/she will also support presentations of the line to merchants, buyers, product developer and sales teams in adoption and proto reviews.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist and support the Graphic Design Team in the following daily activities:

• Support and collaborate on seasonal apparel design and graphic design process from concept to completion while partnering with the Head of Designer to ensure alignment priorities and direction
• Research new trends research and conduct market analysis
• Design and develop graphics, labels and trims according to fashion trends and sales needs
• Realize artworks, technical sheet, graphic proposal, seasons book and drawings
• Create Graphic Moodboards and colour charts
• Support check, release and approval of artworks
• Create customization, hangtags, jokers and packaging
• Create sketches and color rendering of the new styles according to the collection structure
• Research trends, fabrics and details (internet, fairs, trip, etc..)
• Select fabrics, embellishments, colors, or style for each garment or accessory
• Participate to the Briefing meetings
• Participate to fashion shows, technical presentations and lookbook.
• Edit sales books and look book (both for seasonal collection and REM) as well denim fit guideline
• Exchange technical sheet with all graphics detail with PDs
• Work with the Design and the Tech Design team in order to provide comments and notes for all fittings concerning graphic tee bodies as well as advise graphic placement
• Work with all members of Design, Tech Design, Production, Buying and Visual Design teams and create graphics for areas needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Fashion and/or Design Arts
• Interest and personal attitude in technical design and related fashion field, with a focus on fashion graphic design for man apparel.
• Strong attitude and understanding of fashion product, style and graphic trends
• Highly creative with a clear understanding of the Guess Brand DNA
• Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with adherence to deadlines and design calendar
• Detail oriented/innovative traits are necessary with strong attention to authentic details
• Team player
• Natural good attitude interaction with all departments involved in the product process
• Dynamic personality, fast thinker, positive attitude
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluent in English
• Good knowledge of computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and also CLO3D are mandatories; extensive computer experience in and any other graphic program will be a plus.
• Highly proficient in all Adobe CS software with a strong foundation in traditional painting, drawing and typography
