PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of the Job is to provide legal advice to various areas of the business, corporate and Intellectual Property (IP) activities.

Main focus will be managing legal practices relating to intellectual property rights and competition, contracts (international, in particular), corporate matters and collaboration on special projects of legal business.

The resource is supposed to be able to operate as an in-house generalist counsel hence ability to learn fast, agile thinking, flexibility, curiosity and pro-active approach in a team context are all key competences for this role.

The scope of work is territorially focused in Switzerland and Europe, with possible exposure to other areas (such as Middle East or Far East).

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

• Managing legal practices relating to intellectual property rights and competition; licensing agreements for trademarks, patents, and other intellectual property rights; management of critical issues and disputes on IP issues and commercial contracts, as well as unfair competition and damage to company image; cease & desist activities, on-line brand protection
• Operate as legal business partner in the areas of competence ensuring that initiatives and projects are designed and implemented considering all legal implications.
• Capability in contracts drafting to ensure that business initiatives develop within the appropriate contractual framework.
• Contribute in the continuous improvement process of IP operations.
• Ensure that reasonable and practically applicable legal advice is given and effective processes are put in place.
• Collaborate with other team members in day-by-day activities requested.
• Keep abreast of any relevant legal / compliance updates.

• Bachelor’s degree in law. Swiss lawyers will be a plus, but not mandatory.
• At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in the legal areas. Law firm first and then in-house experience will be considered a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English. Any other language will be considered a plus.
• Ability to work in a multinational environment.
• Good judgment, proven responsibility, and sufficient analytical skills.
• Must possess capability of working in team, be well organized, self-motivated, focused on meeting deadlines, flexible and able to multitask within a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving and positive attitude are a must.
• Sense of ownership and pride in the performance and its impact on company’s success.
• Good User of MS Office Package
