Position

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of the Job is to provide legal advice to various areas of business and Intellectual Property (IP) activities.

The primary focus will be managing legal practices relating to intellectual property rights, contracts (international, in particular), and collaboration on special projects of legal business.

The resource is supposed to be able to operate as an in-house generalist counsel hence the ability to learn fast, agile thinking, flexibility, curiosity and proactive approach in a team context are all key competencies for this role.

The scope of work is territorially focused in Switzerland and Europe, with possible exposure to other areas (such as the Middle East or the Far East).


CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • Managing legal practices relating to intellectual property rights; management of critical issues and disputes on IP issues and commercial contracts,
  • Operate as a legal business partner in the areas of competence ensuring that initiatives and projects are designed and implemented considering all legal implications.
  • Capability in commercial contract drafting, negotiation, and revision to ensure that business initiatives develop within the appropriate contractual framework; in particular in the context of IT and Digital Technology;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement process of legal operations, including report activities.
  • Ensure that reasonable and practically applicable legal advice is given and effective processes are put in place.
  • Collaborate with other team members in day-by-day activities for the management of legal affairs
  • Keep abreast of any relevant legal / compliance updates.


Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in law. Swiss lawyers will be a plus, but not mandatory.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the legal areas. Law firm first and then in-house experience will be considered a plus.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Any other language will be considered a plus.
  • Ability to work in a multinational environment.
  • Sound judgment, proven responsibility, and sufficient analytical skills.
  • Must possess the capability of working in a team, be well organized, self-motivated, focused on meeting deadlines, flexible, and able to multitask within a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving and a positive attitude are a must.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in the performance and its impact on the company’s success.
  • Good User of MS Office Package
