Position

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Collection Merchandiser Manager supports the Global Director in the commercial project development of Apparel lines on a seasonal basis ensuring product offer is well balanced in terms of sales expectation (to achieve revenue goals and sales targets), image (presence of seasonal trends) and product value/contents (Brand DNA) and collaborates in all the activities related to the office, from the creation to the commercialization of the line to the sales force.


CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be a liaison between the Business Unit and all the involved stakeholders (internal and external) to guarantee and provide all the necessary product tools and product know-how to properly promote the line and support the sales during the market
  • Analyze seasonal product and sales performance on a daily basis: analysis of sales data and product performances/product mix across channels (wholesale, retail, e-com) with a focus on wholesale
  • Cooperate in preparing the seasonal collection line brief & structure ensuring product range meets market needs, long term strategy and growth plans
  • Participate to the sketch, proto cost & margin review, pricing meetings to ensure balance in the offer by category, by price and by delivery, presence of carry over styles and best sellers, meeting style plan objectives and making sure the financial target are respected
  • Monitor the seasonal development calendar making sure the deadlines are respected
  • Product line presentation to the Sales Force (following all steps from the organization to the presentation) ensuring the product vision and commercial imperatives are communicated effectively to the internal sales organization and external agent network
  • Collect from the sales force specific and relevant needs in terms of product offer, potential additions, price requirements and competitors’ best practice to improve our service level
  • Keep updated on market knowledge of Guess Brand, seasonal competitor’s analysis and product benchmarking
  • Build strong relationships on a cross-functional basis within the organization, ensuring that the commercial and product operations teams work in true partnership to achieve a winning proposition
  • Professional and clear communication with all cross functions including product developers, buyers, planning, customer service and commercial team
  • Support the Business Unit office in all the activities related to the product line in all its phases: pre, during and post sales campaign
  • Prepare post sales campaign product analysis and reports

Requirements

  • Experience: at least 5-6 years of experience in similar filed
  • Education: University Degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language is mandatory. Any other European language is considered as a plus
  • Good Public speaking skills
  • Very good understanding of the apparel fashion environment
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently, very flexible when priorities change, problem-solving abilities, organized, detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good computer skills: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint are mandatory
  • Availability to travel
