Posizione

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To partner with Retail Buying Director in developing, planning, executing and communicating product strategy and assortment that meets or exceeds financial goals. Direct and manage activities performed by the Buying team.


CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze product trends and historical data and channel input at departmental level. Develop seasonal strategies based on analysis.
  • Review financial targets with Planning at the department, class or style level as appropriate. Develop assortment in partnership with Merchandising and review with management.
  • Work with Visual and Merchandising teams to determine product placement within the store by delivery and store group.
  • Review product assortment with cross-functional teams in the countries and identify and recommend big ideas, key drivers and promotional strategies and review to insure they meet financial goals.
  • Work on sales forecast with Planner, analyze OTB and propose action plans as necessary by reviewing sales and inventory against financial goals and recommending changes to future order quantities, deliveries, pricing or markdown strategies in alignment with Merchandising and Management.
  • Lead weekly cross-functional meetings to share information on current business issues.
  • Communicate with Countries to get input on sales, fit, etc. to use in planning future seasons and to improve in-season management.
  • Communicate with Marketing regarding product initiatives or specific promotions to be implemented.

Requisiti

  • 6+years prior experience in buying preferred or 8+ years prior retail experience with the ability to display a strong understanding of retail assortment, margin and sales growth
  • Knowledge of merchandise trends and their financial implications.
  • Possess a clear understanding of financial measurements and how to impact them. Knowledge of the principles of management.
  • Knowledge of strategic and financial merchandising in the retail industry.
  • Possess strong presentation, listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze a problem skillfully, formulate a logical rationale for the decision and take action.
  • Ability to have vision, to identify potential areas and ideas for future development and implementation.
  • Ability to ensure customer satisfaction and stimulate further business.
  • Ability to adapt to people and changing situations and alter own behavior to reach a goal.
  • Ability to create and maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals.
  • Ability to accurately assess employee strengths and developmental needs.
  • Ability to direct and influence subordinates effectively toward accomplishment of tasks and goals.
