Position

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Reporting directly to the Tech Design Manager, the Model Maker Kids will convert a designer's sketch into accurate and creative patterns, for development and production purposes.

The role will be responsible for Guess Apparel Kidswear in-house patterns and will act as a link between design and manufacturing stages.

Our Model Maker will also amend and archive existing patterns or create brand new ones and will create dedicated MSMTS and GRADING charts.


CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work directly with designers from 1st pattern concept through all steps till production;
  • Take active part in fitting;
  • Document pattern and fit changes with timely execution and within hard deadlines;
  • Measures Proto samples, P.P. samples, Top Samples;
  • Create dedicated MSMTS charts;
  • Create dedicated GRADING charts;
  • Liaise with factories and technical design staff, as required;
  • Solve problems that may arise with patterns and MSMTS charts when used by factories;
  • Make pattern alterations at need;
  • Paper patterns realization in case of specific bases or particular requests;

Requirements

  • Fit expert and experience with various age body types;
  • Understanding of fitting and construction methods;
  • Previous experience in pattern making, technical design and related fields (knowledge of Kidswear is a plus);
  • Knitwear experience will be a plus;
  • Good knowledge of Windows Office and of the main pattern design systems (Adobe, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign);
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail;
  • Working on cross-functional and multi-national teams;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Fluent in English.
